Project Summary

My proposal was intended to seek the development measures, considering the development status of native residential district and problems with living environment in our urban area.

After Colonial Period(1910-1945) and Korean War(1950-1953), Seoul, the capital of South Korea, has rapidly expanded by the explosion of the urban population and the industrialization. Through this modernization process, significant number of native residential districts had been newly formed not by any systematic urban planning or government intervention but by low income classes. In spite of that they are no longer considered the inferior town through continuous effort to improve residential environment, the native residential districts used to be unconditionally demolished for purpose of standardized redevelopment without giving any chance to be remained.

So my proposal is about giving sustainable strategies of the existing native residential district in Seoul by phasing in the new concept of green area named Greenfrastructure.
